Found under the traditional cabbage-leaf on March 20, 1945 by a band of roving orcs, I was raised in a bottle until the age of 18, when I managed to escape by jumping up and down until the bottle fell over and began rolling downhill, ending up in the midden of a gigantic, fantastic castle on the back lot of a Hollywood film studio. There I crawled out of the bottle, which by then had been dinged rather badly by all the rocks encountered on the journey down the hill, and headed for UCLA, where I sneaked into the back of a class on creative writing, which is how I came up with this stupid biography. But seriously, folks . . . Born March 20, 1945, 5:48 pm PWT, Pasadena, California. Adopted by idiots who lived in San Gabriel,California, grew up there and in Pasadena and Ventura, California. Fell in love with the sky when I was taken to Griffith Park Observatory near Los Angeles on a 1st-grade field trip to see the show and check out the observatory facilities. Fell in love with science-fiction when I read THE SILVER PRINCESS OF OZ at around age 7. Got an adult card at the local public library at age 8 because I wanted to check out Arthur C. Clarke's CHILDHOOD'S END from the adult section. Did the school thing and all that through three years of Jr. College in Ventura, where I got an AA degree in mathematics. Worked for Naval Civil Service for awhile (1966-1967), moved to the Santa Barbara area and went back to school at UCSB in 1967-1968. Moved to Seattle, WA in 1987, have been here ever since. I dote on cats, ferrets, rattlesnakes, spiders, roses, Loren Eisley, biologist Lyall Watson, HP Lovecraft, horror fiction, science fiction.

Favorite song:

Viva Godzilla!

Spoken: Y'all still want me to come with you?

Bright light city gonna set my soul,
Gonna set my soul on fire
There's a whole lot of money that's ready to burn
So get those stakes up higher.
There's a thousand polluters just a-waitin out there,
And they're all livin' devil-may-care.
Im just the devil with radiation to spare.
Viva Godzilla!
Viva Godzilla!

Spoken: Ah, thank-ya very much baby.!

And how I wish that there were more
Than twenty-four hours in the day.
But even if there were forty more,
I wouldn't sleep a minute away.
Oh, there's coal-fired factories and huge freeways.
A fortune burned on every deal.
All you need's a strong heart and a nerve of steel.
Viva Godzilla!
Viva Godzilla!
Viva Godzilla!
Viva Godzilla!

Viva Godzilla with your radiation flashin',
And your big cities crashin'
All those hopes down the drain.
Viva Godzilla turnin' order into chaos,
Turn order into chaos,
If you see it once, you'll never come home again.

I'm gonna keep on the run,
I'm gonna have me some fun,
If it costs me my very last erg.
If I wind up out of gas,
Then I'll always remember
That I had a swingin' time.
I'm gonna give it everything I've got.
Lady luck please let my reactor stay hot.
Let me destroy a city with every shot.
Viva Godzilla!
Viva Godzilla!
Viva Godzilla!
Viva Godzilla!
Viva, viva Godzilla!
