Synchronicity

I just had an odd experience:

I've been reading Stephen King's Revival, and got to the part in which the narrator describes his experience as a heroin addict and the way he got cured of his addiction (Chapters 5 & 6). At that point, I had to go to the bathroom. So I went into the bathroom, sat down on the commode, and picked up a book from the Top of the Toilet-Tank Stack to read, Peter D. Ward's The Call of Distant Mammoths: Why the Ice Age Mammals Disappeared.

I had gotten to Chapter 7 of the latter, "The Kill Curve," and was on page 168, where Dr. Ward recounts the death of a colleague due to overdosing on crack cocaine, and describes his fury at and hatred of the coca plant, and his wish at the time to make that plant extinct because of all the havoc and heartbreak it has caused.

I won't say I was stunned, because this sort of thing happens to me all the time (a common experience among Ceremonial Magickians, of which I am one). But I found it fascinating Well, just before the Big Bang, everything that would become our universe was collected in one point, the Singularity, everything touching everything else, so I guess we can chalk synchronicity up to quantum connectedness and universal entanglement. But still.
