One of the cruelest trades in animal tourism in the world. Elephants are very social animals. Baby elephants especially need the society of their mothers, siblings, and other relatives for the first number of years of life; if that is taken away from them, they develop PTSD every bit as serious as that happening to soldiers on the battlefield, become intensely neurotic, and suffer from it the rest of their lives. This sort of "elephant tourism" requires the kidnapping of baby elephants very early in their lives, taking them away from their families and friends when they need them most, and, usually, murdering the adult elephants who try to protect the babies and keep them from being kidnapped.

Don't support this terrible trade. Elephant numbers are declining dangerously in many areas in the world, often due to the terrible toll that the requirements of such tourism takes on adult elephants and, in many cases, the kidnapped babies, who often get sick and die in captivity.
